This message is from the Robinson Research Institute’s, Micha Richards:
“The survey is an online questionnaire of individuals who have recently received a diagnosis of endometriosis. The anonymous survey includes questions on demographics, social determinants, perspectives of health care system interactions, and method of diagnosis.
One large proponent to my research is to fill the knowledge gap surrounding the experiences of people with backgrounds of ethnic minority; who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander; of the lower socioeconomic bracket at time of seeking a diagnosis; and reside in remote and rural locations. Representation of these groups is vital in gaining a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the difficulties in gaining a diagnosis, Additionally, as the use of medical imaging for a diagnosis of suspected endometriosis is developing, the team and I hope to capture enough data to compare the experiences of individuals with differing diagnosis methods.”
